The Zeitgeist Movement

This was the Zeitgeist Movement (TZM) original site promoting their philosophy. When the site's domain expired, so did the site. Recently I discovered that the domain was available, so I bought it with the goal of recreating as much of its original content as possible from archived pages. I did not want someone else to purchase the domain and re-purpose the site for something that had nothing in common with the original website. This domain and its message should not disappear since the movement towards a more sustainable global society is steadily growing at the grass roots.
I happen to work at a small progressive software firm where I am part of a team doing made-to-order web app development. Clients hire us from a variety of industries including finance, real estate, healthcare, e-commerce, and retail. Since these industries are often subjected to special regulations and to a higher-than-usual expectation of security and privacy from their clients, custom software development services solve these issues. Likewise such industries as construction, education, healthcare, and large-scale food service and catering companies often have specific needs that are usually outside the scope of generic COTS programs. We step in developing customized applications to build customized software that ultimately saves frustration, time, and money, allowing everyone to operate on a much more efficient level. So I told my team mates about the Zeitgeist Movement and what it is trying to achieve. Several days later I saw three of the team members reading The Zeitgeist Movement Defined: Realizing a New Train of Thought on their kindles.
The Zeitgeist Movement (TZM) promotes a sustainable global society, in a humane environment, while addressing the root causes of persistent social issues. Our vision is of A Natural Law/Resource Based Economy, which can eventually lead to sustainable solutions to these worldwide problems.
By presenting information to give you a better tool to see the world issues as they are, we hope you will become empowered independently to understand its relevance on your own terms, at your own pace. And to help you in Feb 03, 2014, we released a long awaited new book that lays out our observations and goals.

This superbly sourced and highly detailed work argues for a large-scale change in human culture, specifically in the context of economic practice. It is now available both online for free and at major book outlets that have for non-profit paperback sales. The overriding theme is how the severe structural flaws of our current socioeconomic system presently governing the world evolved from archaic economic and sociological assumptions originating in our early history. The flaws remained mostly unnoticed till the 21th century until the consequences are obvious with increasing social destabilization and ongoing environmental collapse.
The book does not simply explaining the problems and their root causality, but poses concrete solutions, coupled with a new perspective on social/environmental efficiency and sustainability. the The work is divided into four parts and 18 essays.

The Zeitgeist Movement
Founded in 2008, The Zeitgeist Movement, a sustainability advocacy group, functions through a network of regional chapters and project teams, public events and media expressions, as well as charity operations.
Our Name
'Zeitgeist' - means the general moral, intellectual and cultural climate of a period of time.
'Movement' - working to promote at shift in values from which we hope a major social change will spring.
Our activism is specifically based on non-violent methods of communication. The core focus is about educating ourselves and the public regarding the true root sources of many universal personal, social and ecological problems we are faced with today. Science and technology have a vast problem solving and humanity improving potential, but most of it goes unexercised due to obstacles inherent in the current, established social system.
The Zeitgeist Movement members believe that by acting now, we can nudge society to shift to a world that will eventually embrace the values of sustainability. A combination of factors, processes, events and players will be participants in shaping our future.
